The Weekly Word: In Which I'm Watching Doctor Who And Other TV Shows!

Monday greeting to you here on the Weekly Word, the weekly update blog post here on WBW!
It’s a grim day today as I write this, I am looking out my window and I can see nothing but dark dull and dreary clouds overfilling the skies, and the ground is soaked from presumably over night rainfall, which to be honest, was forecast, yet we still don’t like to see it non-the-less, especially not first thing on a Monday morning!

For most people, their weekends fall on a Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, and then back to work/normality on a Monday, but for me it appears to be quite the opposite. I see Monday coming along and I’m like “Hooray!”. For me, I work most Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so when Monday comes along, that’s when my weekend begins. I have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday all to myself before having to gear myself up for work on a Thursday. However, I still treat Monday as a work day. Monday is the only day of the week when I have the house to myself, so I take this opportunity of no distractions to sit down, catch up on any blog posts I missed during the week, and to write my blog posts for the coming week. I also use it to catch up on my YouTube videos and TV shows that have been on during the week, and as of this last week or two, I have been knocked over–all the TV is on at the minute! Gotham, Once Upon A Time, Continuum, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D,DOCTOR WHO and Heroes Reborn just started too! There are so many good shows on/coming back, and it’s great and if I’m not mistaken, I do believe The Flash, Arrow AND The Walking Dead are all back this week too! I’m in Comic-Book/TV Show Adaption HEAVEN at the minute!!!! *Explodes with excitement*

Excuse me one second while I glue myself back together…

Right! So, now that we have that out of the way, next on the agenda: I feel like I should keep you guys up to date here on how I am doing art-wise now, considering my presence is now non-existant over on deanzdoodlez.com (yet still there for you to peruse as you wish), and what projects I might be working on even though I am not really sharing my artwork online. First up, with the beginning of October, saw the beginning of INKtober in the art world. Inktober is very big on Tumblr and Instagram and was started a few years ago by artist Jake Parker. For Inktober, the main goal is to do at least one drawing/illustration a day, but the main thing about it is it has to be done with INK of some description. Now, that can be ink from a cheap plastic writing pen, or it can be high end quality artists ink for calligraphy and drawing, it’s up to you, once it’s ink. People then go onto share their inky drawings online for everyone else to see using #inktober or #inktober2015. I started doing it, and was sharing the drawings I did on my Instagram (@deankealy_com) but stopped straight away after day 3, because it was defeating the purpose of me taking a break from not posting my artwork online. Since I stopped that, I have since decided I want to do a painting. At first I wanted to do a Halloween-related painting, but then decided against it, and after watching this weekend’s episode of Doctor Who I realised that for a such a Whovian that I am, I have never done a painting/illustration of the Doctor. I have done pencil sketches of Capaldi, Tenant, and Smith, but I have never actually painted any of them! So stay tuned for that, I might even go so far as to share a snippet of it with you guys on next week’s Weekly Word!

The Doctor and Clara

My word count is telling me to shut up and get the show on the road. I didn’t do anything exciting this week other than go visit my parents for the day on Wednesday, so other than that it was a regular old boring week. I still had a lot to say and that’s why I love writing The Weekly Word because I get to come here and vent to who ever wants to read, and I know someone somewhere is reading this, and that someone somewhere actually cares about what I am saying.

I’ll see you guys next week. Until then 😉

  1. I can relate to that weekend working thing. It’s not so much right now — I’m looking for more work actually, BUT when I worked every weekend, it used to frustrate me how people would then wonder why I wasn’t in the office as much as they thought I should be during the week. Out of sight, out of mind I guess. They weren’t there on the weekend to see me working, therefore, maybe I didn’t really do it. 😉
