The Weekly Word: In Which I Had A Better Week Than Last

Howdy folks, it’s Monday once again. How has your week been? This week I was out and about again, thankfully making my week a little more eventful than last.Off I went last Monday evening after finishing a 9-6 work day, to Dublin to visit friends and family. I spent a nice few days there before returning home Thursday just in time to get home, get changed and go into work. It was a real close call, with about 20 minutes to spare at most!

Also this week I got into watching some new TV shows. The first being Rick & Morty. If you don’t know what Rick & Morty is, it’s an adult cartoon NOT FOR KIDS, as it was originally aired on Adult Swim, but a friend introduced it to me via YouTube. It’s weird, don’t get me wrong, it is messed up, but there’s just something about it that just makes you want to keep watching it. It’s about this old crazy scientist, Rick, who drags his grandson, Morty, on messed up adventures. Sometimes they go into space, sometimes they travel to parallel dimensions–I like to think of it as a Doctor Who meets Back To The Future meets South Park. Yep, I think that’s the only way I can genuinely describe it. But it is humorous, entertaining and if you don’t have a sense of humour don’t watch it.

The next TV show I got into this week, if you didn’t catch my blog post on Friday about it, was Fear The Walking Dead, the spin-off series to the main The Walking Dead show. Read my review to see my thoughts on the first episode, and then I went and watched the second episode and added my thoughts to that at the end of that post. I do believe that episode 3 is going out tonight in the US, so I’m eagerly anticipating it via the means in which I watch my American TV shows that are not yet available in Ireland and the UK which I don’t think I should mention here just in case because I don’t want to lose that accessibility *Insert Cheesy Smile Here*.

Also I have been reading a book called The Black Lotus by Kieran Fanning. He’s an Irish author whose work I have previously reviewed here on WBW. I have less than 100 pages left in the book so expect the review of that here on Friday.

In other news, I have traded in my camera I use and am currently eagerly anticipating the purchase of a brand new Canon DSLR, which I have to wait, I think, just one more day before I can get my hands on it. It isn’t a new SLR, it’s a good number of years old, but it’s in perfect condition, and it is my first DSLR, so I didn’t want to go to expensive for it. Expect stunning photos as of next Wednesday’s Wordless Wednesday hopefully!

I haven’t been up to much else this week, and I think I was able to write more this week because I’m in a better mood than last. Last week I didn’t really feel in that good of a mood, and I think that was what put me off writing as lengthy a post as I normally do here on WBW. Anyway, I’ve been working since Thursday, so didn’t do much other than watch TV when I got home, and who know’s what looms for the week ahead. Here’s hoping it’s a good one! See you then 🙂

      1. They announced last week “In two weeks…” I am guessing it is because of the holiday weekend. :/

I didn’t know you added to the original post, will be interested to see your thoughts on Episode 2. Sourcerer blog has what is pretty much my take on it with it’s most recent review :/
