So like I mentioned in my last post, Friday was the 2nd Birthday of WeeBitWordy! Can you believe it? I can’t–it doesn’t feel like I’ve been here on this blog for 2 years. I love this place. It’s my little escape. I know I haven’t been here as often as I should be lately, but again, like I mentioned in Friday’s post, I have given myself a right ol’ boot up the arse, and with some motivation from a friend, I am going to try and return here more regularly. I miss writing my Weekly Word posts, and I miss updating you guys on what’s going on in my world. But I’ve already told you guys about that–moving along!
I’ve given the place a lick of paint, if you hadn’t noticed. A fresh new theme, and a new featured image for The Weekly Word. I wasn’t happy with the last Weekly Word image I had made–it was too plain for my liking, so I spruced it up with a handwritten version. That’s right, apart from the logo, the words “The Weekly Word” were written with my very own hand on paper, and tweaked ever so slightly on Photoshop. That’s more like it! As for the theme, the old theme just wasn’t cutting it for me anymore. It wasn’t the image I had of the blog in my head. And this one is. I love it. Perfect.
What have I been up to lately? Recently I have ventured into the world of cardmaking, and that venture is, while slow, doing well. The designs I am coming up with seem to be popular, and I even have them stocked in two local stores. If you’re interested in checking it out, you can go to the websites: deankealycards.com, which also has links to the Dean Kealy Cards Facebook page, and my Etsy store, where you can my the cards yourself. I’ve been very bold, and have very much neglected my main art blog, deankealy.com, but only because I’ve been putting the majority of my focus into my card project, which in a way explains my absence from this blog too. I can’t remeber the last time I picked up a book (jokes)!
I also went to see Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, two weeks ago now. It was the Irish Premiere, which means I got to see it two whole days before everyone else, along with a sleuth of others. Nothing fancy, it was basically just an advanced screening. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, I thought it was fantastic, and as a huge comic book fan, I got great enjoyment out of it. Saying that, when I read a review, I can’t disagree with anything anyone is saying about it, good or bad. Ben Affleck though, in my opinion is the best on-screen Batman ever (so far)!
That’s all I have for you guys for this week. I hope there wasn’t too much repitition in this post, compared to Friday’s post. I also have nothing planned for this week, and I have the majority off work–I think of something to do. I also have a post lined up in my mind to go out to you guys this coming Friday.
It feels good to be back.
Until then 😉
