Welcome back to WBW, and welcome to my October 2015 Favourites! In this blog post I am going to share with you guys some of the things I loved the most that I picked up this month!
So the first thing I want to mention is the awesome cushion/pillow that you see in the background of the above photo. How awesome is that–I love it so much to the point where I’ve started going to bed with it every night. Without fail! Since we got the house redecorated earlier this month, I wanted to pick up something that would go along with the colour of the walls, and when I saw this I knew it was perfect. I picked this up in a little store in the town where I live called Ode and they do all sorts of cute hipster-esque stuff like vintage lamps, furniture etc, as well as quirky household objects like cups and plates and coasters and the likes. It’s a great shop and I love it!
Next up is a book, the autobiography of Neil Patrick Harris, to be precise and it looks to be an amazing read. I say looks, because I have yet to finish reading it. I am about 30 pages in, and so far so good! It’s called a “choose your own autobiography” which means you get to decide at the end of each chapter which chapter you want to read next based on the choices given. For example at the end of chapter one it say “if you want to read about __ turn to page __, or if you’d rather read about ____ turn to page ___”. Which is great, if you want to experience something a little different while reading a book. For my first readthrough of it though, I think I’ll just read it from start to finish as normal, which you can also do, if you don’t feel like being flung forward and back through the life of Neil Patrick Harris.
I HATE FAIRYLAND which I have already written about here on WBW, is in here because why the hell not?!? Comics are for everybody! I won’t go on about it again here, if you want to read what I thought of Skottie Young’s brand new creator owned comic, CLICK HERE to read it!
What’s next… Oh yes! That skull right there with the flourescent green headphones–cool, right? I thought so too, and then not 24hours into owning it, I somehow managed to break the headphones off the skull(… don’t ask…). If you look closely at the photo you can see the crack on either side of the phones where they broke and I had to super-glue them back together. Thankfully, I own some flourescent green acrylic paint, so I may be able to make it look less like it was broken, and make it more like the cracks where “part of the design”. Ha ha…
Please tell me you know who the Rocketeer is, or that you have at least heard of him? Well, he is one of my favourite non-main-stream heroes, and they made a Pop! vinyl figure of him and I actually squealed out loud like a teenage girl in the store when I saw it and so did my best friend (less like a teenage girl) and we both bought one instantly. Each. Because. It’s The Rocketeer!
And last but not least, you’ll have to look closely for this one–see that coaster that The Rocketeer Pop! is standing on in the photo? Yeah, that’s my next fav, and it’s a Wolverine coaster! Why? Because I got a new bedside stand, and I didn’t want to ruin it with stains/rings from whatever beverage I might place on it, so I went perusing on eBay, and found this guy!
THAT, my friends, wraps up this month’s favourites blog post! I love writing favourites blog posts, I love reading favourites blog posts, and I also love watching them on YouTube (aha…). Let me know of any Favourites videos/blog posts that you think I might like, or if you make them yourself I’d love to check em out too! That’s it from me for now, so until next time 😉
