In Which I Give Up Blogging (on Dean'z Doodlez)

blogmemeHi guys! Today’s post is a little different. As some of you may know, I also am an artist as well as a blogger! As well as Wee Bit Wordy, I ran an art blog called Dean’z Doodlez. If you are familiar with the blog, and are a follower of my Dean’z Doodlez Facebook page, you may already know this next bit of news, but if not, hold onto your hats: I have put Dean’z Doodlez on hiatus! I have also made the blog private, so if you have been having trouble gaining access to, it’s simply because I have made it so only I have access to the blog for the time being. To properly explain what exactly is going on, here’s the post I wrote on my FB page (which is still accessible and would appreciate if you hit the like button), where I tell you why I have made this decision to stop my art blog:

I’ve made an impromptu decision to put deanzdoodlez(dot)com on hiatus. My reason being I don’t know what direction the blog is going in, and I feel I have to draw and post something there for the sake of it…and at this stage it has become more of a chore than a hobby at the minute. But don’t get me wrong, I still love art and drawing, I just…don’t feel the need to have to share all my artwork on a blog/online. I don’t think there’s anything I have drawn in the past 2 years that I haven’t shared/posted online somewhere, whether it be on my blog, Instagram or Facebook. So I have decided to take a break from sharing my art online for the time being, but don’t get me wrong, I will continue to draw on a daily basis and make art and love it! ^.^

And there you have it! If you happen to follow my Dean’z Doodlez blog, and have wondered why I have disappeared this week, and for further notice, now you know why. Fear not though, this is only a temporary break, and hopefully I hope to be back no later than the New Year! I love New Year, and I think it’s the best time to start fresh, and that’s what I plan to do, to hopefully return to Dean’z Doodlez with a new look, a new theme and new schedule! Personally I find the whole thing very exciting, but I hope you guys won’t be disappointed that I won’t be sharing my artwork for the next couple of months.

And that’s all I have for you guys today and I’ll see you all HERE on with my next post on Monday! Until then 😉

PS. I would also like to link this post to Charles’ post over on Legends of Windemere, where he put up a post called “Questions 3: What Would You Give Up?” where he asks three questions on having to give something up, and I think this post that I have written is very relevant!

  1. The minute something like that feels like a chore, that is the time to walk away, even if it is just for a little while. completely understandable and you are smart to do it now rather than let it get “worse” in your mind.

  2. I like the idea of deciding on a focus and finding your way to fun and purpose again. In the meantime, you’re still here. And it’s fun to anticipate the return of your art blog. 🙂
