Welcome back to another Monday here on WeeBitWordy, and the 1st edition of The Weekly Word for 2016. We are 18 days into the New Year, and I thought that’s enough time to get into this again. I actually had no intention of letting my weekly updates go missing for this long, but hey, I guess it makes up for you guys getting nothing but weekly updates back in December.
Since I’ve been gone, I’ve contemplated whether or not I should change the name of The Weekly Word, but in the end I’ve decided if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. It’s also at this point I usually refer you to Bradley’s Building Rome series, which gave me the inspiration for these weekly posts, but he doesn’t seem to be around these parts much lately, which is quite disappointing, because he’s missed!
Getting back to business, a quick recap as to what I’ve been up to:
- I’ve started a second part time job, which slots in nicely along side my other job.
- I’ve started reading again (I just finished A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness), and intend to do as much reading as I possibly can this year.
- I’ve been Daily Sketching and posting on a daily basis over on my art blog Dean’z Doodlez, so when I’m not here, I’m more than likely over there!
- I’ve decided to start posting more seriously over here (if you couldn’t tell by my last couple of posts), and want to make this blog about the things I love–books! (and the odd comic book/graphic novel thrown in for good measure.)
That’s about all the important stuff for now. January is generally a quiet month for me (as it is for most people), so I don’t really have an excuse as to why I haven’t been giving you The Weekly Word posts every week. But as of today, you’re going to get them every Monday, because I’m just that kind of guy who loves to keep you all in the loop with what I’m getting up to!
I’ve also decided I want to keep my interest in photography going strong too, so I will be using as many as my own photographs/images in my blog posts as possible, unless I credit it otherwise. Sometimes you just can’t capture everything yourself. I also might do a few posts that are purely photography based, whether it be a single photo, a collage, or a slideshow, so don’t be surprised if you see a few of them every now and again.
Like I mentioned before, January is usually a quiet month for me, and that’s exactly what this week has been. If I haven’t been working, I’ve been sitting on my ass watching American Horror Story or reading. Hopefully I’ll have more exciting news to share starting next week. Until then 😉
